Heathers Closet

"Run for the Children"

Help us help kids who are in need.

Heather's Closet is an IRS recognized 501 (c) (3) non profit organization. The organization was established in 2004 in memory of Heather Boswell who was killed tragically in an automobile accident. All of our resources come from people like yourself, community groups and others who knew and loved her. We are commited to changing the lives of children who, for whatever reason, find themselves in shelters in our area. Our mission is to help them feel safe and loved when they are in difficult situations.

The race is open to both runners and walkers age 16 and over who are able to complete the 26.2 mile course within a seven hour limit. The half marathon is open to runners and walkers age 13 and over who are able to complete the 13.1 mile course in a four hour time limit. There is also a 5-K fun run and fitness walk. There is also a five member relay team that can walk/run the 26.2 run. The legs of this relay team are listed on the Marathon Website.

Each individual participant will be required to raise a minimum contribution of $250 by 10/03/08. Checks should be made payable to Heather's Closet and you can contact Kelly (info at bottom of post) for mailing instructions or any questions.

Each individual must complete the registration form in full and mail or fax with the non-refundable registration fee. Registration must be made through the Detroit Free Press Marathon. The early registration fee will be honored until 9/1/08.

Every participant will receive a Heather's Closet T-shirt that is to be worn on race day.
